About

What this award rewards

Born in 1988, the As d'Or is the top award of the French-speaking games market, which has grown into one of the most creative scenes in the world. It is handed out by a jury of about ten members (specialist journalists, game librarians, shop owners) who play hundreds of new releases throughout the year. The As d'Or stands out for reflecting the full diversity of today's market across four distinct categories (General Public, Children, Advanced and Expert). The reveal is a landmark of the industry: it takes place every year in late February, during the opening ceremony of the sprawling Festival International des Jeux (FIJ) in Cannes.
